Meet Jason M, Operations Manager at 24 Hour Floor. Jason has been with 24 Hour Floor for more than 2-1/2 years. Originally from Buffalo, New York, where he was born and raised, Jason moved from Buffalo to South Florida when he started with 24 Hour Floor and had previously worked in the concrete coating industry in Buffalo as well. Jason is happily married to his beautiful wife Tricia. The two have been married for over 20 years and have three daughters: , Jodi, Macie, and Sydney. Jodi and Macie are currently attending college outside the state of Florida, while their youngest daughter Sydney will be 16 this year. Jason and Tricia also have two dogs: Willow, a Chihuahua/Pug mix and Hazel, a rescue dog from Puerto Rico. The two pooches keep Jason and Tricia busy, especially Hazel.
“Willow who is a little older, enjoys her favorite pastime, which is sleeping most of the day. Although, she does wake up for enough time during the day to bark at individuals walking by in the neighborhood and other dogs. Hazel, our rescue, is full of energy and wants constant attention. She enjoys her walks and golf cart rides, commented Jason.
In their off time, Jason and Tricia enjoy weekend getaways. “Tricia is a Disney fanatic, so we take frequent trips to Orlando and visit all the Disney parks. We also enjoy going to the Florida Keys, Bimini, and many other nearby destinations. The best part about living here in South Florida is that we are in an area where most people vacation, and we are near so many places to visit and vacation too.
Growing up in Buffalo, Jason played baseball and hockey during his youth. Hockey was definitely the more popular sport, Jason noted, “8 months of winter probably helped that out too.” Jason notes that the Buffalo Sabers and the Buffalo Bills were his favorite teams during his youth and remain his favorites today.
A seasoned veteran in the concrete coatings industry, Jason notes, there is a difference working here as opposed to up north. “Working in the concrete coatings field from Buffalo to South Florida had its challenges. The concrete has many more variables here. We have quite a bit of jobs with homes right on the ocean and the intercoastal. This could impose challenging factors with concrete moisture and extreme slab heat. I work closely with our chemical provider regarding these challenges,” noted Jason
“What's nice about 24 Hour Floor is that we cover an extremely large area of the East Coast of Florida. We have completed jobs in the Florida Keys and all the way up to the Orlando area. We are involved with residential floors that include garages, patios, pool decks, and balconies. Pretty much wherever there is concrete we can put a beautiful concrete coating on,” added Jason.
24 Hour Floor also handles a large number of commercial jobs too. We have installed new floors at many restaurants, condominiums, commercial kitchens, warehouse facilities, and much more. We have completed some projects in some very well-known landmarks here in South Florida area…from the Miami Police Department and B-Ocean Hotel and Resort in Fort Lauderdale to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood,” commented Jason, “Many have probably walked over a 24 hour floor before and did not even realize it,” he added
In his spare time, Jason enjoys riding his two Harley Davidsons, one of which he built. “Riding them is a sure way to reduce stress and just put all of my concerns on the back burner for a short while,” commented Jason.
“Working at 24 Hour Floor has been a tremendous experience. I enjoy the fast-paced environment we have here. Our current team is the strongest that I have seen. We have a quality group, who all care about the outcome of the floors they work on and install. The installers do an amazing job transforming our customers' concrete. From large scale jobs to small one car garages, they all devote the same amount of pride into each one. They are the final step providing our customer with what we call a TransFLOORmation!” concluded Jason.
