Rise Kitchen and Deli is a popular eating establishment located in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. Tens of thousands of people dine at Rise every week as the restaurant is open 24/7. The restaurant kitchen also sees a lot of action daily, as hundreds of kitchen staff members prepare meals for the patrons up front. Although the restaurant is relatively new, having opened in late 2019, the epoxy coated kitchen floor had seen its better days and was in complete ruins. Portions of the epoxy coating were in total shreds, while other portions of the 5,300 square foot kitchen area were cracked.

24 Hour Floor was contacted by the establishment to replace the existing kitchen floor with our premium concrete coated flooring. Since most of the restaurant’s kitchen equipment was already in place, we had to wrap almost all of the equipment in the kitchen prior to installing the new floor, commented Kim G, Commercial Design Consultant at 24 Hour Floor.

The Rise Kitchen installation lasted several days and involved grinding off the original floor covering with grinders and other specialty equipment to create the proper concrete surface profile for the new concrete to adhere to. Areas around the edges and drains were grinded by hand. A HEPA filter vacuum was then used to clean and prepare the surfaces for the next stage. A Polyurea basecoat was then applied to the surfaces, followed by the application of multi-colored vinyl flakes. A Polyurea Polyspartic topcoat was then applied to create a durable and strong surface. The attractive Twilight finish is a popular choice with many commercial and residential establishments. Once the protective coverings were removed from the equipment, the kitchen was back and running in no time at all.
